Saturday January 31, 11:30am to 1:30pm; Women only
All curlers, regardless of the position you play, should understand curling strategy. In this 2-hour session Tracey Crawford-Smith will provide instruction on key tactical aspects of the game, such as shot selection, ice reading, and effective communication within the team. Participants will explore when to prioritize offensive versus defensive plays, the importance of rock placement (e.g., guards, draws, and takeouts), and how to anticipate opponents' moves. The session also covers strategy adjustments based on ice conditions, end scenarios, and the scoreline, while reinforcing the importance of sweeping technique and teamwork to improve your team's play.
This is a classroom session with no on-ice instruction.
